The challenge
Health has become an integral part of routines aiming for a long, healthy life. And yet, information about what is healthy and what not are more contradictory than ever before while we lack a vision for the future of health – on individual level and together as society. Sanitas studies intensively trends and developments and wishes to make them available to everyone.
The solution
With the Sanitas Health Forecast, our editorial department has worked closely with 30 independent journalists to bring to life 400 pages of facts, insights and personal stories. First in its kind, this publication is meant for everyone to learn more, form opinions and define individual take-aways around the future of health.
As leading health insurer, Sanitas intensively studies trends and developments around the future of health to develop better offering and services for clients. To enable everyone to build own opinions and define individual take-aways around the future of their own health, Sanitas is sharing insights and hypothesis as the Sanitas Health Forecast.
Our editorial team has been driving the process from concept over visual concept to realization. This encompasses a diverse set of skill that our interdisciplinary team could put at work: from researching global mega trends to defining the editorial concept, from developing a visual look for the most diverse types of content to accompanying the creation of customized illustrations, from collaborating with journalists to tapping into our broad network of national and international health-related experts, from pitching the idea to publishing houses to ensuring the presence throughout a network of kiosks.
At the core of the Sanitas Health Forecast lies a yearly report with 400+ pages which are barely enough to illustrate the future of health. Our editorial team aimed at creating a new type of publication that combines hard facts, science-backed insights with personal stories and provides the room to form opinions and define individual take-aways. It has been essential to create the perfect balance between short snippets and long-breath articles to create the type of coffee table book one goes back to again and again.
Four global mega trends build the fundament of the Sanitas Health Forecast: gender health, personalized health, superhuman health and accessible health.
How strongly does our gender impact our health? How can science maximize our life expectancy? How can we individualize health to better match our own needs? And last but not least, how can access to health be fostered further? From a global relevance our team has explored local applicability, interest and desirability.
What inspires Swiss people around the topic of the future of health? What are their wishes and hopes, their worries and fears? We asked 2000 individuals of different age and living across all Swiss regions to answer these and many more questions in the first nationwide survey around the future of health. The study insights are spread throughout the Sanitas Health Forecast.
The Sanitas Health Forecast is published by Woerterseh and can be purchased at bookstores as well as at newsstands of the two major networks of kiosks, Valora and Coop. Last but not least, you can conveniently get your copy online here.
The bi-weekly Sanitas Health Forecast podcast, hosted by local celebrity Frank Baumann, keeps the conversation going by addressing different questions around the future of health. Trend researchers, psychologists, fertility doctors, biohackers, researchers and so many more answer everything we always wanted to ask about future outlook in their field.
Besides classical digital promotion, a recurring print ad in a renowned Swiss newspaper, the NZZ, supports positioning Sanitas as a health insurer promoting knowledge around the future of health.
Thought-provoking statements around the future of health are paired with the visually differentiating illustrations to promote the Sanitas Health Forecast.
